About the Ricky Rod Law Group

Attorney Ricardo Rodriguez, Jr. comes from humble beginnings. As a child of teenage parents, his formative years were spent travelling across Texas as a migrant worker. Through hard work and a commitment to finding a better life for himself and his family, Attorney Rodriguez went to the University of Texas San Antonio on an athletic and academic scholarship and from there went on to Texas Southern University to receive his juris doctorate. He now uses his knowledge and dedication, to help people who are facing troubling times find a better life for themselves. Before founding The Ricky Rod Law Group, Attorney Rodriguez served as a District Court Judge for over six years, where he made important decisions on personal injury, wrongful death, divorce, and custody cases, in addition to many others. In 2014, he was elected as the Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney. He protected his community in this role, seeing that victims of all types of crimes got the justice they deserved. 

As the Criminal District Attorney, Attorney Rodriguez also showed his commitment to justice through various initiatives and diversion programs he implemented. In each capacity, Attorney Ricardo Rodriguez has served those people with the utmost respect and humility. He’s prepared to continue his service for you.

Examples of His Commitment to Justice

  • Assembled groups of specialized units for survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and other crimes that provided them with crucial legal support during their cases
  • Initiated a rigorous rehabilitation program for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated (DWI) offenders, which closely monitored participants, helped them combat alcohol and/or substance abuse problems through counseling, and allowed them to have their cases dismissed after completing the year-long program
  • Oversaw a county drug court that aimed to help offenders with substance abuse problems overcome their addictions and rectify damage they caused to others, their families, and themselves
