Andres Guerra

Attorney Andres Guerra was born in Edinburg, Texas, and raised on his family’s ranch in Linn. The son of longtime Hidalgo County Sheriff J.E. “Eddie” Guerra and Norma Guerra, he was instilled early on with a strong respect for service, discipline, and community.

A graduate of Edinburg public schools, Mr. Guerra earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the prestigious Corps of Cadets. Following graduation, he served in the Texas House of Representatives as a Reading Clerk during the 85th Texas Legislative Session in Austin.

Mr. Guerra went on to earn his Juris Doctor summa cum laude from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, graduating in the top ten percent of his class. During law school, he gained valuable legal experience working at a national tax collection firm and at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, where he assisted senior prosecutors in preparing cases for jury trial.

After obtaining his law license, Mr. Guerra began his career at a statewide personal injury litigation firm in Houston, representing hundreds of clients in motor vehicle and commercial trucking accident cases. He later returned home to the Rio Grande Valley to serve as an Assistant District Attorney with the Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. In that role, he prosecuted thousands of cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felony offenses, including DWI, family violence assault, drug possession, and murder. He developed extensive courtroom experience, trying numerous cases before judges and juries.

Since joining The Ricky Rod Law Group in December 2024, Mr. Guerra has continued building on that courtroom experience by representing hundreds of clients in a short period of time. He has secured not guilty verdicts, successfully helped clients avoid criminal convictions, and worked diligently to protect their records and their futures. His experience on both sides of the courtroom allows him to anticipate prosecutorial strategies and craft strong, strategic defenses aimed at achieving the best possible outcomes. Mr. Guerra remains committed to providing high-quality, zealous representation while guiding clients through some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
