Cynthia A. Sepulveda is a life-long resident of Edinburg.
While attending the University of Texas-Pan American, Ms. Sepulveda was employed full time with Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District in the Accounts Payable Department as a Budget Clerk. In 1994, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice - Corrections degree.
In April 1995, Ms. Sepulveda began her career at the Hidalgo County Community Supervision and Corrections Department as an Adult Probation Officer/Court Officer until December 2014. As an Adult Probation Officer, Ms. Sepulveda supported and promoted the utilization of Evidenced Based Practices in the supervision and treatment of offenders sentenced to community supervision in Hidalgo County. The primary goal was to provide guidance to clients in order to ensure compliance with court-ordered conditions and refer clients to resource agencies in an effort to effectuate their rehabilitation.
As a Court Officer for the 389th District Court and the 92nd District Court, Ms. Sepulveda conducted pre-sentence investigation reports, assisted the Courts on any matters pertaining to community supervision and maintained a good working relationship with the District Courts, District Clerk’s Office, County Clerk’s Office, Criminal District Attorney’s Office, defense attorneys and law enforcement agencies.
From October 2000 to March 2006, Ms. Sepulveda assisted the District and County Courts as a Social Study Investigator. As an officer of the Court, her responsibilities included preparing social studies for families going through divorces and adoptions.
In January 2015, she joined the Hidalgo County Criminal Criminal District Attorney’s Office as the Executive Assistant to elected Criminal Criminal District Attorney Ricardo Rodriguez, Jr.
