Ricardo Rodriguez III graduated within three years from Robert Vela High School, Class of 2016, at the Top 5% of his class. Mr. Rodriguez was an active participant in the RVHS Mock Trial team, sparking his early interest in the legal field. He obtained his bachelor's degree in two and a half years from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he made the Dean’s List numerous times.
While attending UTRGV, Rodriguez became president of the Mock Trial team, which prior to his tenure had previously been in a slump. Under his leadership, the team was able to compete at a private competition in Philadelphia, in addition to the main tournament in Houston, Texas. With newfound morale, the UTRGV Mock Trial team is now thriving with multiple members once again.
Rodriguez was accepted into Thurgood Marshall School of Law on a scholarship as the youngest in his class at the age of 20 and obtained his Juris Doctor cum laude, Class of 2022. Rodriguez tutored Torts and Contracts to first-year students during his second and third year and ensured they were understanding the curriculum. He made the Dean’s List every semester and participated in the Family Law Clinic his last semester where he assisted and represented indigent clients with legal family needs. While at TMSL, Rodriguez was an active member of the Hispanic Law Students Association.
During his 1L summer, Rodriguez participated in a summer internship at the Ray Thomas Law Group and subsequently worked with Rene A. Flores, Attorney at Law, while awaiting his bar results. Mr. Rodriguez is officially licensed in Texas. Due to his high bar score, he is also able to apply for a license in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.
