Deyanira Rodriguez was born in Victoria, Tamaulipas. When she was two years old, her mother and her older sister migrated to the Rio Grande Valley. She is a lifelong resident of Edinburg, Texas, and attended Edinburg High School. Mrs. Rodriguez is the proud wife of Mr. Ricardo Rodriguez, Jr and mother of their three beautiful children, Ricardo III, Nadia, and Sofia Rodriguez. Mrs. Deyanira Rodriguez graduated in 1994 from the University of Texas-Pan American with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. In 2015, she attained her master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University.
In 1994, she began her career as an educator with the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District. Her primary role was to impart knowledge and assist children in developing their intellectual learning styles. She was responsible for creating and administering lesson plans, overseeing the classroom, and ensuring high student performance. She played a vital role in facilitating a positive, productive learning environment and nurturing the academic growth of her students throughout the school year.
In her first year, she taught at Lyndon B. Johnson Elementary. Then, Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez married on March 23, 1996, and moved to Houston, TX, where Mr. Rodriguez attended law school while Mrs. Rodriguez taught second grade at J.P. Cornilus Elementary School. Mrs. Rodriguez moved back to Edinburg with their son in December 1998, while Mr. Rodriguez remained in Houston to finish his Doctor of Jurisprudence at Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
In September 2003, Mrs. Rodriguez became a citizen of the United States of America. Becoming a citizen was a momentous event because she could vote in federal elections and exercise her freedom of choice and expression. Specifically, she was able to cast her vote for Mr. Rodriguez, who was a candidate in a special election to preside over the 92nd District Court in Hidalgo County.
Like many working mothers, Mrs. Rodriguez always led by example for their children by exhibiting a strong commitment to her career while prioritizing their needs, managing household tasks, and raising a caring, loving family.
In May 2024, Mrs. Rodriguez retired after serving 30 years as an educator. She is now joining The Ricky Rod Law Group and is ready to assist you with your legal needs.
